…proving practical and successful, resulting in both Maternal and Terminal Sire Lines that are suited to meet the individual needs and requirements of the modern sheep farmer.
From the home of our Nucleus flock in Aberystwyth, we operate the largest performance recorded flock in the UK, recording more than 40 traits in our 1,500 ewe flock. Our nucleus flock lamb outdoors at a 1000ft and farmed under commercial conditions, we accelerate the very best genetics using large scale multiple ovulation embryo transfer (MOET). We have breeding partner flocks across the country also recording a further 2000 plus ewes.
The Focus Genetics breeding programme includes the world's largest sheep progeny testing programme and uses the range of sheep genetic marker technologies that are commercially available in New Zealand, learn more on their website.

Our genetic gains are forging ahead year on year so that our clients can see the benefits on their farms – our clients’ success is our success and we can advise you on which of our rams or crossbred ewes would best suit your needs.
The extensive measurement of economically important traits to help identify the very best animals for breeding means that our breeding programme delivers continuous genetic improvement of the main profit drivers in commercial flocks, such as lamb growth, carcase composition and number of lambs reared as well as lambing ease, lamb vigour and lamb survival. Management of our flocks is focussed on replicating best practice in forage based systems to ensure that the continuous genetic progress made in the nucleus in both maternal and terminal lines delivers profit at a commercial level in our customers flocks.
Continuous genetic improvement of our nucleus and breeding partner flocks means that the genetic potential of rams we make available to our customers is constantly improving, so not only are the best rams we offer improving, but the average index value of all rams offered for sale increases year on year.
Year upon year the Innovis breeding partner flocks are growing, with 23 partners in 2019. We are always interested to invest and expand into new areas of the UK, joining in partnership with enthusiastic and dedicated farmers to provide you with the best genetics to help you achieve your production goals.
