PRIMERA

The Primera is a composite meat sire initially developed by Focus Genetics to produce high performance finished lambs. The Primera is available to sheep breeders in the UK exclusively through Innovis.

PRIMERA RAMS ARE A COMPOSITE SIRE CREATING FAST GROWING, MEAT YIELDING PROGENY 

The Primera is a composite meat sire which was developed by Focus Genetics to produce high performance finished lambs. The Primera is able to combine fast growth rates off grass with ease of lambing to provide a minimal management system whilst increasing profits. As a commercial sire, Primera progeny gain an improved carcase meat distribution for future yield payments. Underpinned by the Focus Genetics established breeding programme in New Zealand, the Primera is backed by science and the largest progeny test in the world.

Primera will suit your system if you: 

  • Want to lamb outdoors 
  • Want to finish lambs early 
  • Want an easy lambing ram to use over ewe lambs 
  • Want a fast-finishing option to use over crossbred ewes / ewe lambs 
Ram Grade: Commercial, Select, Elite

All rams will be vaccinated against Bluetongue before the end of June, making sure your investment is protected and fertility won’t be impacted.

Innovis will guarantee the performance of all rams sold at its official sales for the first mating season after purchase, provided that the owner can demonstrate that they have made reasonable efforts to ensure the health, welfare and security of the ram during that period.

Anny issues post sale must be raised prior to 1st February after the year of purchase and accompanied by appropriate evidence/supporting documentation in addition to a veterinary report where applicable. In the event that a ram is found to be defective, a replacement ram of equivalent genetic potential will be supplied. A credit note for the value of the ram may be issued against the buyers next purchase if the replacement is not available. No cash refunds are given.
