Technical Sales Support (Scotland)

Reporting to: Northern Technical Sales Manager

The role is to be based from home around Perthshire and responsible for the development of the Innovis brand and sale of rams and associated products across North and Central Scotland.  The role will work closely with our Northern Technical Sales Support Manager, who is based in Northumberland, and will oversee the administration of sales / credit and CRM database activity along with close liaison with our six northern breeding partners and two ram grower units.  The role requires extensive travel, good communication skills and a solid knowledge of sheep farming/breeding.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotion and sale of performance recorded rams and the development of solid customer relationships
  • Consultation at farm/enterprise level to identify options for change.
  • To develop supply chain initiatives with key processors/retailers.
  • Arrange and attend technical open days, shows and evening meetings to drive sales.
  • Identify farmer case studies with Innovis’ PR consultant to be used for promotion.
  • Qualification and follow up of leads.
  • Updating of the CRM (customer relationship management) system to accurately record client data and ram sales activity.
  • Assist with Innovis on-farm ram sales (5 main sales) and delivery of rams if needed.
  • Arrange on-farm selection events at Arnprior to clear up rams post the main sales.
  • Assist the Innovis vet to undertake ram examinations at the growing units.
  • To assist the Innovis vet in undertaking health screening on customer ewe lamb production flocks.
  • Assist with the selection of crossbred ewe lambs from hill units for purchase and transfer to lowland customers in England.
  • To attend quarterly sales meetings and to take an active role in the development of annual sales plan.
  • To take an active interest in the future development of product lines with close liaison with the breeding/genetics team.
  • To be an active member of a vibrant dedicated team.

 

This role is suited to a self-motivated individual that has a passion for sheep farming.  It provides an opportunity to be part of an innovative company that is changing the future of sheep production, applying New Zealand production systems into UK environments.

The role is full time and is envisaged to require increased hours during the main sheep sale season (August – November) but provides the opportunity to have ‘time off in lieu’ (TOIL) taken during many of the winter months.  The role will be required to spend one weeks/month in Aberystwyth HQ during December/January/February annually in order to assist with pre-season planning.

Salary range: £22,000 - £28,000 plus company car (Ford Kuga 4x4).
